I would consult with Gerry Douglas at the factory before attempting to do this. Cutting away keel lead removes designed ballast weight and will change the behavior of the boat.
Lots of these boats are shipped all over the country using standard Brownell type trailers so there must be a reasonable way to do it. There are thousands of these boats moved and I don't know too many who have had to cut a keel to do so. If your boat yard or haulers trailer does not fit your boat you may want to consider a new hauler or yard?
